Editorial Review:

Product Description:
The End of the Oil Age is an anthology of science and geopolitical articles written by Dale Allen Pfeiffer. This collection contains all of the author's major articles about energy depletion, the confluence of environmental problems set to converge upon the world, and the implications for modern civilization. Understanding the global peak of oil production and the North American natural gas cliff is essential for making sense of what is happening in the world today. The book is a warning about the end of hydrocarbon based technological civilization.

I wasted my money by buying this book. It seems like a collection of essays quickly slapped together to make a buck and sell a book. I don't question Mr. Dale Allen Pfeiffer's smarts. He is a smart man. However, I get the point of the book. Mr. Pfeiffer hates the President. Mr. Pfeiffer hates the Vice President. Mr. Pfeiffer hates Republicans and Mr. Pfeiffer hates conservatives and Mr. Pfeiffer hates Oil Companies. We are all free to believe what we want and I believe anyone who thinks who we vote for has anything to do with the price of gas at the pump is a nut. We are also free to vote for whomever we like and I for one truly believe that regardless of our ideas, regardless what we think and regardless who we vote for, there is only one American truth and it's this, for the last 50 years, we as a nation and people are (1) dumber (2) fatter (3) deeper in debt. Vote Republican and we are dumber, fatter and deeper in debt, vote Democrat and we are dumber, fatter and deeper in debt, blame Republicans and we are bumber, fatter and deeper in debt, blame Democrats and we are dumber, fatter and deeper in debt. It's a pitty that such a smart man like Mr. Pfeiffer waste a large part of his time with hate and blame. I don't hate anybody Mr. Pfeiffer, so please use your tallent to write something we can use. Regards, Keith Renick, Project Materials Specialist, Central & Western Projects Department, Riyadh Refinery, Saudi Aramco Oil Company, Retired

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Wake-Up Call
If you read this book, you will not be shocked when you drive up to the gas pump and find another price increase. The author explains why in 22 readable but technically detailed chapters. I already knew quite a bit about "peak oil" and its implications, but I learned a lot from the author's analysis. It's a guide to the present, the past, and the future. What it lacks is an index, and if that were provided, it would become an even better reference to which those interested in energy resources would repeatedly return.
